Scranton Gillette Communications to Launch New Lighting & Decor Brand in January 2017
Arlington Heights, IL (October 3, 2016) — Scranton Gillette Communications (SGC) announced today that its new brand, Lighting & Decor, will launch in January 2017 as a one-stop resource for both subscribers and advertisers. The monthly publication represents the most efficient read for industry subscribers as well as the most-efficient ad buy for manufacturers serving both lighting and decor markets. Lighting & Decor will continue the SGC established tradition of extending advertisers’ presence at important industry events through special programs and bonus distribution. The debut issue will be handed out at the January Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas lighting and home furnishings markets.
An evolution of the SGC award-winning brands, Residential Lighting and Home Fashion Forecast, Lighting & Decor builds on the legacy and respect that both brands generated during two decades of service to their respective markets. Lighting & Decor enters the $40 billion lighting and home decor market as the only one-stop shopping experience for the entire marketplace. It will be delivered as both a print and digital publication to a purchase-influencing audience of 40,000 lighting and home furnishings retailers, lighting designers, interior design firms, residential and commercial building and remodeling companies, and architecture firms, among others.
In addition to the high-end magazine, which will spotlight lighting and home decor products and trends in a distinctive 10 x 12” perfect-bound presentation on premium gloss stock, the brand will include a dedicated website, lightinganddecormag.com, weekly eNewsletters, and special events, including the Showroom of the Year Awards program in conjunction with Lightovation and the Dallas Market Center. Lighting & Decor will provide useful intel on how leading showrooms do business along with revealing what’s important now in such product categories as lamps and lighting; bulbs and ceiling fans; furniture; mirrors, pillows and wall decor; area rugs and other decorative accessories.
Lighting & Decor will reflect the editorial team’s knowledge and years of experience from having produced SGC’s Residential Lighting and Home Fashion Forecast brands, and SGC Horizon’s Professional Builder, Professional Remodeler, and Building Design+Construction. Lighting & Decor will be helmed by Editor-in-Chief Nicole Bowling, whose Design Group responsibilities have included Residential Lighting and Home Fashion Forecast.
“Because this is a continually evolving market, there is a definite need to provide a one-stop resource where manufacturers and buyers can connect,” says Lighting & Decor Vice President and Publisher Diane Vojcanin. “Our 20-year history of service to the residential lighting market, combined with our award-winning home decor products and trends coverage, enables us to deliver that one resource for all.”
“Lighting & Decor draws on the strengths and synergy of our brands that serve the lighting, home decor, commercial and home building, and remodeling industries,” adds Ed Gillette, CEO and president of SGC/SGC Horizon. “We are in a rare position to be able to offer this niche resource to serve our loyal readers and marketing partners.”
Residential Lighting’s last issue will be the December edition. Home Fashion Forecast’s fall issue will be its last. Home View, the quarterly digital supplement to Home Fashion Forecast, will continue to publish.
